The Client:

Auctionopia is an start-up dot-com with big aspirations. They are aiming to compete with eBay in the online auction market. The company is currently in their developmental stage and is nearing their Beta test.  Auctionopia’s goal is the create the perfect online auction experience, and is geared towards the younger “college age” crowd.

The Challenge:

Neon Sumo was approached to help create a temporary landing page for the Auctionopia domain name. The page needed to portray a “utopian” feel and a tropical mentality to match their logo. The functional purpose of the page was to collect names and email addresses for anyone interested in the company or their upcoming Beta.

The Solution:

Neon Sumo wanted to make a more dynamic experience than a typical landing page. In doing so, we elected to make the page flash based, and created a custom illustration to portray the “ideal auction world” for Auctionopia. Next, we animated a flying “postcard” that would originate from Auctionopia Island and prompt visitors to join the Beta or contact the company. The end result was a fun and unique landing page that helps distinguish Auctionopia before the company even launches.
